Golden Retriever Shows Mom the Most Heartbreaking Expression When She Passes By Without Giving Him Attention.

If your dog is anything like mine, there's a good chance that if they were truly living their best life, you’d be petting them 24/7. My dog reminds me of this by placing her paw on my hand every time I dare to pull it away. As much as I’d love to indulge my dog’s every desire, it’s simply not feasible. After all, I have things to do! Someone has to work to maintain the comfy lifestyle (and delicious treats) my pup has come to expect, right?

But if my dog looked at me the way the Golden Retriever in this TikTok video gazes at his mom when she walks by without stopping to pet him, I might just find a way to spend all my time pampering her and nothing else. That look is pure heartbreak!

In this (extremely sad) video from @gamjamypotato, a Golden Retriever named Chip is lying on his bed when his mom walks past. Judging by the expression on his face, he clearly thought she was coming over to give him some love. When he realized she wasn’t, the only way to describe his expression is as a feeling of true betrayal.

"POV: You were in a hurry to the bathroom, so you couldn't pet your dog on the way," she wrote in her caption.

Clearly, Chip doesn’t think that's a valid excuse, as shown by his disappointed reaction. And neither did their followers, as commenters quickly jumped in to reprimand her. One person wrote, "But you had time to film?! Hand over your dog, now!!"

Fortunately, she confirmed in her caption that Chip did get the pets he was hoping for once she finished in the bathroom, so at least we know this story had a happy ending!
